Opening this document on my laptop on the last day of the year 2024, I find myself with nothing to write about. Maybe I just need to brush up on my blogging skills. After all, it has been a number of months since anything was posted on this blog.
Not what I wanted when I first started out, but life has a way of dragging you off in different directions.
I mean, what isn’t there to write about? Take your pick, right?
Of course, one of the biggest stories is the surprising Trump win, right? Ah, but I don’t want to get dragged down that rabbit hole. I truly believe there is more to people than politics and by talking one side of the other, I am alienating a good portion of my audience.
I think enough damage has been done over politics in the past decade to last a lifetime. Good relationships have been decimated because of political beliefs. Otherwise beautiful friendships have been ended abruptly because of people’s political choices. I have experienced it personally and have seen many people go to war with family members and good friends over this.
Anyway.
If I do write about anything related to politics, I hope it will be informative and non-biased because we really need that.
One big change that I’m going to make next year is to just write on this blog without any real editing. I will hopefully catch all my grammar and spelling mistakes, but as far as reading it over multiple times… nah. I’m not writing essays here. As long as people can make sense of what I’m trying to say, I am good.
So, yeah, less editing is going to help with my obsession with perfection and, hence, my inability to write consistently.
Not to mention, I believe if you write the way you would talk to a friend, you instil a little (or a lot) of your personality. I believe that is what writing lacks in this day and age.
Besides, AI is doing all the content writing these days. If you want a perfect article, all you need are the proper prompts.
When you think of it, the only thing left are blogs that convey a little personality. AI isn’t going to completely mimic a writer’s persona yet. Maybe some day.
