Just a random observation. It’s Halloween and that means buying the usual load of goodies for the trick or treaters. In this neighbourhood, there are a lot of young families and a lot of kids. An average year for us is about 200-250 trick or treaters. That adds up to over a hundred dollars in treats every Halloween. It’s all good though, I enjoy it.
Anyway, part of the whole Halloween thing around this household is to sneak the odd treat in the days before the big event. We always buy more than we need just for this purpose.
So, I just opened a small box of candy coated chocolates (I won’t say the name), and this is what I found. No, I did not remove any.
I don’t know if the picture does this any justice, but that tiny box is only half full. Maybe it’s always been that way. Maybe there is a good reason for it. However, I just can’t remember the box being so empty.
Sure, we are going through unprecedented inflation at the moment, but this is so wasteful. It’s not the fact that I am getting less candy per box, but that half the box is empty. Just so unnecessary.
I would much prefer to spend more per box to have it filled. At least that way I won’t feel so guilty when I throw out 2 boxes as opposed to one.
Anyway, just an observation.
